2 weeks left till the big event, so many good, no, GREAT people offer their help, time and their talents. The feelings are overwhelming. I’m stressed about the organization of the event and feeling extremely blessed with the way people are embracing it.
Please circulate the flyer. This event is bigger than just one night. We will change and touch people’s lives forever.
This beautiful flyer was designed by the brilliant Chris “Chrisp” Pamilar. My friends and I used to beast over his mixtapes. Our homegirl was dating one of his close friends, so she was able to loan us his tapes. Most of the tricks and timing of my mixes were learned from listening and studying him. It is truelly an honor to have him design the #MMAM flyer.
Our DJs are a select three geared to set a proper atmosphere for the evening. Each has a special talent, and are all excellent selectors.
DJ ReFRESH
DJ ReFresh will be running the performance part of the night. Quick on his feet, and good under pressure. I’m confident that this segement of the evening will not only run without a hitch, but will also have a touch of classic conscious Los Angeles DJisms. DJ DOMINIC CARTER
Dominic Carter is one of the guys that you just hate so bad. He’s so damn good at everything, you can’t help but feel some animosity. Great on the tables, on the movie set, on the runway, with the ladies, and song selection. DC keeps the tempo high energy at all times and boosts you serotonin levels through sound waves. “I know you ain’t really tryna hear this shit / rather hear me talk about cars & bitches / do like 99 bars on some diss shit / punch line raps on some radio hit shit?”
Trek Life is one of those MC’s that does not do it for the lime light. He does not tailor his art to sell records, or compromise his integrity to make extra dollars. He is a conscious rapper, but not one of these powder puff the sky is blue, grass is green, all is well in the universe kinds. He is a piece of reality, teaching about the bigger picture of life through tales about the experiences that he has been through. Trek has an edge, and though his message is serious, he still manages to make light of these heavy situations.
The 25/35 Foundation is a group that primarily provides transitional housing facilities. What is that? It is a helping hand to those who suffers from homeless conditions. They offer a place to stay, assist in employment training, and warm meals. They help get the needy on their feet.
They have agreed to offer their help in our cause; sending aid to the typhoon victims in the Philippines.
25/35 Foundation is also collecting canned goods, clothing, blankets, anything that you would want to donate to help. Please contact Melindadh@2535foundation.org to arrange for pickup.
I’m proud to announce that J-Hind, president of Desi Hip Hop will be performing this year at MMAM. This evening will be 3 of 3 things: A great time, a great cause, and exposure to culture. Desi Hip Hop is a movement in India led by J-Hind and Bohemia. Their main focus is to clear India of corny pop hip hop and cultivate it to what we have here in the US. Described as the “Jay-Z & Kanye,” of India, you will get a taste of this corner of the world.
Pr1me is a West Coast artist. What seperates him from the bunch? He’s a west coast artist with world wide flavor. His style and range is unparalleled and his rugged delivery is smoothed over by some witty lyrics. Definitely the most accomplished and humble MCs that I know.
T-Nasty is the perfect gentleman. He holds down the keys for Glory For the People and producers for many of your favorite Hip Hop artists. His resume would make any other person’s head inflate, but like Pr1me, he keeps both feet on the ground.
As you may already know, a massive typhoon hit the Philippines this past week. Lives were lost. People are missing their brothers, mothers, sisters and fathers. Hundreds of thousands are left homeless, and the streets remain under water.
Every Filipino you know knows someone who has been affected. My Uncle was left with only the wet clothes on his back.
We must help. In conjunction with the 25/35 Foundation and Love Resonate, the Mini Mix Anniversary Masquerade will now be dedicated to those in need of help in the Philippines. All proceeds will go directly to clothes, food and other necessities and put right into the hands that need them.
Our good times will create better times for those who need it.
When was the last time your neighborhood looked like this?
This video shows the resilience of the Filipino people. As hard as times may be, water invading every part of their house and home, the children still find a way to enjoy. We are doing this for them.
My name is Ian, better known as DJ Buddy. Upon reflection I decided to elevate my career exponentially. I set a simple blueprint: Make one mixtape every week for three years. It’s now one year later, and I have followed this blueprint meticulously.
I mixed this plan with the “Law of Attraction,” and the outcome is unfolding exactly as planned. Exponential growth.
This weekly mixtape dubbed, “The Mini Mix,” has been my ride to success, and I hold this project near and dear. I have learned that consistency is the key to all doors you would like to walk through, persistence is the sole on each shoe that carves your path, and your heart should be in control of your mind.
This event, The Mini Mix One Year Anniversary Masquerade, is a celebration of my growth as a business man, a family man, and as a person in general. There have been many who have picked me up along the way, and cheer for me as I tackle each mile. This party is for you.
